Hello clan folks, This is Noriack, kicking off a new lore-themed blog dubbed (by myself of course)
Lore with Nor'. In this blog we will talk about all things lorewise, from history of Gielenor, to quests and current world events, and also predictions of things to come in the 6th Age. I will post a weekly topic, via my experiences or other's suggestions, and the clan which is you can input your ideas or opinions towards the topic, as well as participate in the poll released at the same time, which reflects the subsequent topic.
Our first topic (this one) takes on the form of
Missing, perumed Death, One of the newest quests to date. It's a novice quest, with barely any requirements at all, but extra dialogue is unlocked via completion of
The World Wakes and relative quests, therefor it took me a while before completing it
. By the way from here on are possible spoilers so be weary.
The quest starts off with a murder scene, involving several saradominist monks and a elf, quite a distance from Tirannwn. You investigate the scene, and you notice a shadowy figure involved, to which (if you completed the prerequisits above) can correctly suspect as
Sliske, the mahjarrat that killed
Guthix. Later,
Icthlarin, the desert god of the underworld, Informs that
Death has been captured, thus resulting in the whole ghostly phenomenon happening at the crime scene and elsewhere. This too was Sliske's doing, and the two of you teleport to his "ascention" at a citadel.
Not only are you and Icthlarin there, but so are most of the other gods and their followers. Due to the murder scene, which frames saradominists and serenians(?) against each other,
Saradomin himself is there to confront
Seren (who
isn't there cause she shattered herself into many crystal pieces before the end of the God Wars).
Zamorak is there too, since there's the implication of one of his brethren ascending to godhood just as he did.
Armadyl is there since the citadel of which this is taking place belongs to him, and
Bandos is there to see the other gods fight themselves, as well as joining in.
Zaros, of course, isn't there, but there is a purple aura at his plinth, possibly signifying that he was listening. Finally,
Brassica Prime sits in the back as all of this happens.
Perhaps some of the most interesting content is, when he arrives, he reveals that he doesn't just have Death, but also a dragonkin, the Staff of Armadyl, and the Stone of Jas, the latter of which he is willing to "give" to the one god who kills the most of the others before Zanaris (the moon of Gilenor) makes an elipse. As the sparks fly, you state your own opinion, sideing with either one of those present or none of them (or Zaros/Guthix if you have done the prerequisits). Sliske then releases the dragonkin and almost everyone leaves, first Sliske, then the major gods, then you along with Icthlarin and Death, while Brassica Prime remains there.
So what does all of this mean? For one the gods will be fighting to the death as of now, which has already happened in the case of Bandos vs Armadyl. But Zamorak must have learned better since his failure against Saradomin, so he must be planning a sneakier approach to optaining the artefact, and Saradomin, empowered as he is, will push on with caution. And does Saradomin still have a grudge on Seren, or Aramadyl, now that he had beaten Bandos? Also, is Brassica Prime really the small and oblivious cabbage put in for comic releif, or his he too hiding something under his leafy sleeves, possibly revealed in the next world event? And what the heck is Zaros planning?
That, my mates, will have to do for this week's lore talk. Leave a comment on your preditions of what is to come, or your opinions on each of the gods and characters. If you have anything about the post itself, whether it was too long/short/etc., or if you have ideas for the next lore chat, feel free to reply that too and I can see what i can arrange. Lastly, don't forget the poll. I for one would love to see which God/faction is favored the most by this clan.
Until next week, Cya Laterz.
